Welcome to Dear God! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Dear God app (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the App.
1. User Conduct
a. Appropriate Use
You agree to use the App in a respectful and lawful manner. You must not post or share content that is:
- Offensive, abusive, or hateful.
- Defamatory, misleading, or fraudulent.
- In violation of any laws or regulations.
- Commercial in nature, including advertisements, promotions, or solicitations.
b. Moderation of Content
We reserve the right to review and hide letters or other content that we deem inappropriate, at our sole discretion. If your content violates these Terms, we may take action, including but not limited to:
- Hiding or removing the content.
- Issuing warnings.
- Temporarily or permanently deactivating your account if you are a repeat offender.
2. User Accounts
a. Account Creation
You may begin using the App without providing an email address. Upon first use, we issue a session-based account identifier that is stored on your device and used to associate your content with your account on our servers.
Your access to the App and any content you create may depend on this device-based identifier. If you clear your device data, lose your device, or are otherwise signed out, you may lose access to your account unless you have added an email address to your account.
You may optionally add an email address at any time to help recover access to your account across devices or in the event you lose access.
b. Account Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining access to your account. Dear God is not responsible for loss of access to your account or content due to device loss, cookie deletion, or failure to add a recovery email.
c. Account Suspension or Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or engage in behavior that harms the App or its community.
3. Content Ownership and Usage
a. Ownership of Letters
You retain ownership of the content you create in the App. By posting or sharing content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use and display the content as described in our Privacy Policy.
b. Public and Private Letters
Content shared publicly within the App is visible to other users, while private letters are accessible only to you. Please see our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.
4. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dear God shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App.
6. Refund Policy
Dear God is a freemium application. You may use the App and its free features at no cost. You may optionally choose to become a "Fellow", which provides access to premium features such as daily devotionals, additional flower unlocks, and other exclusive content.
When you sign up to become a Fellow, you may be offered a free trial. At the end of the free trial period, your selected payment method will be automatically charged for your chosen subscription plan (monthly, annual, or lifetime).
After your payment method has been charged, you may request a refund within seven (7) days of the charge date, provided that you have not used any Fellow (premium) features during that period.
For example, if you begin a free trial on September 1 and your payment is processed on September 8, you may request a refund until September 15, only if you have not accessed or used any Fellow features between September 8 and the time of your refund request.

7. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the App, and the "Last Updated" date will be revised. By continuing to use the App after changes are made, you agree to the updated Terms.
